Pardus de Palma is rooted in a family tradition that spans three generations.

It began with my grandfather, Luis, who founded a candle workshop in Jiquilpan, Michoacán. He passed his knowledge and passion for the craft to his children, including my mother and my aunt Esperanza, who carried that tradition forward with the same dedication and care.

By the time I was born, candle making was simply part of everyday life. I grew up surrounded by wax, fragrance, and the steady rhythm of the workshop. I remember the scent of dried fruit filling the kitchen, countless visits to the markets of Tonalá, and family conversations that always seemed to find their way back to candles.

Perhaps that is why candles have always meant more to us than objects. They have illuminated our celebrations, accompanied quiet moments with loved ones, and brought comfort in times when we needed it most. They have been present throughout our lives, becoming part of our family's story.

That legacy became the foundation of Pardus de Palma.

Our name is inspired by the Mexican jaguar, a symbol of elegance, quiet strength, and enduring presence. A crepuscular and nocturnal animal, the jaguar moves with confidence as daylight fades. Candles exist for much the same reason—to accompany us as evening arrives, creating warmth, comfort, and moments of connection.

Today, every Pardus de Palma candle is a reflection of that heritage: handcrafted with the knowledge passed down through three generations and inspired by the places, memories, and spirit of Latin America.
